This beast looks scary but works pretty well. For PVC the cut offs need to be at least 3/4" thick or the scrap shatters and sends shrapnel flying. I have used it for 2" PVC, 3/4" & 1/2" PEX, and 1" plastic conduit. Worked well in all materials. The safety switch is hard to hold at the same time you are pulling the trigger. At least I haven't found a good way yet. It has plenty of power to cut 2" and is very quick. Chop saw is faster and more square but with this you have no dust,it is pretty much silent, and very portable (cut in place). The cuts are more square than a Sawzall with no ragged edge to deburr. It is faster than a ratchet manual shear and won't wear out your grip if you have to do a bunch of cuts. Plus if you have the batteries & charger the bare tool cost is reasonable. I used to use a hacksaw to cut through PVC pipe. This tool was worth every penny and I'm about to buy a second one. Most people are commenting on the safety switch... I don't have a problem at all; the first few times I used the tool it was confusing but now I've made thousands of cuts with it and it's all like second nature.
